After many years of teaching, I am taking a long, slow pause as I step onto the path of a PhD. Yoga remains central to my life and work. I’ll still be practising, learning, and sharing when the time is right, and I hope to stay connected with you in ways that feel meaningful.

While I'm on a teaching break I'm referring men to Craig Smith's Blokes Yoga class. It's an opportunity to learn from a highly experienced teacher. Join other blokes as you regain functional movement and develop greater breath capacity (yes, it helps with snoring).

I'm Steve and I have been practicing yoga for many years. My Dad who trained as a yoga teacher in the Satyananda tradition, first introduced me to the practices in 1992.
I am taking a long, slow pause from teaching yoga This feels like the right moment to integrate years of teaching, practice, and community into a deeper, research‑based contribution. I will continue to work part time at CQUniversity in the Social Impact Lab while I explore how trauma‑informed yoga might support the work of social design, a practice that helps people work on solutions to the problems they face in everyday life.
Although I’m stepping back from weekly classes, yoga remains central to my life and work. I’ll still be practising, learning, and sharing when the time is right, and I hope to stay connected with you in ways that feel meaningful.
A huge thank you to the studio owners who have hosted me, and to everyone who has come to the hundreds of classes, retreats, workshops, and private sessions over the years. Without interested participants, being a yoga teacher would be a solitary pursuit. I truly honour your enquiry into the important practice of yoga.
